Dear Mavis,
Enclosed you will please find a little present and Happy Birthday greetings. I wish you could be here to enjoy your Birthday with us, but since you are not here we wish you a very Happy Birthday and hope you can come soon to be with us.
The Police situation is getting better, not many new cases now. We are having much rain here. It has been wet about a week. Our crops are looking fine. I wish Ruel could see my cotton. I think it is as good as Mississippi Delta cotton.
Howard and Ruth are down at the beach and Buck and Dulcie are going to join them tonight. I am working every day. Have not missed but a few days this year.
Hope you all can come soon. I would like to see Johnny and Joe Lee.
Love,
Pop
