I'm a Computer Operations Analyst at a hospital in San Antonio, TX and work on several platforms, IBM mainframe and RISC boxes mostly. PC's are the new way of life, so I figured this is a fun way to get started. CAROL WRITES: Welcome Maureen from Canada. I just started this course today. PRESCRIPTION MAN WRITES: Hello, this is my first online class, which I am taking through the local community college in Broward County, Florida. There are 2 levels of certification offered depending on the number of classes passed. My goal is to get at least the 1st level, then hopefully the 2nd level. My family volunteers for an organization that raises service dogs for the disabled (we're puppy raisers), and I really would like to help with the website. MARY WRITES: Hi, I'm from Minnesota. It is good to get to know each other, right? I'm a writing instructor, and I know this class will be useful to me. I'm also thinking of doing an online literary journal----if I ever have time for that. MOSSMAN WRITES: Hello from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. I am a devoted Mac "addict" and teach adults and kids on computer use (part time). I am taking this course so I can learn to develop web pages for a nonprofit folk music society I started several years ago with two friends. I also want to keep up with my kids! I thought it would be interesting to learn how to build web pages and write HTML. MARGARET WRITES: Hello, I'm from Misouri and a nursing home resident. and I've enjoyed meeting some of the other on line students--and like Diane,I am taking this course to learn how to create a church web page, possibly used when and if a web site is later developed. I've learned so much from quiries and answers and wish to thank both students and our instructor for all the information gleaned from you already. I am a computer teacher at the local community college and am constantly frustrated at not knowing enough to fix the messes I get into!
