I wonder how you are feeling this morning? I hope it was not as bad as I imagine it was. Wish I could walk in on you this morning to see you. Wonder if you missed little Johnnie.

I got the wire Muriel sent yesterday afternoon. It was around four o'clock when I stopped by to see if anyone sent it. I felt a great relief that it is over and hope nothing else happens. I expect to get the original telegram through the mail this morning but didn't. They called from Greenville.

Since you are not coming home for quite a while I suppose you noticed different stationery. I had to get something to write on since I have a few more to write. Mama and I were talking this morning at the table about the date, The 21st, one month since you and Johnnie departed from Mississippi. How long does it seem to you? About a week? As for me I didn't know three weeks could be so long.

Since I mentioned the weather yesterday I will pass on that topic. I carried the car to Cleveland the other day to have the wheels lined on it. I am having several other things done to it. The motor tuned, new transmission oil and grease put in it, new spark plugs, new tie rods and several other little things done. I am going after it tomorrow.

Ruthel said in her letter yesterday that her school would be out Monday. I think she plans to try to find work and then come down here for a few days before she starts to work. They plan to get a house or larger apartment if they can find one. They wanted to find out about Evelyn first to see what she intended to do. Mama got a one page letter from Evelyn yesterday, but after reading it you don't know any more than before you read it. Mostly about little Jerry.

This writing ws interrupped for I had to go after the cotton choppers, 12 o'clock noon. I am only paying $1.50 for chopping from 6 until 11 and 1 until 6. I have about half of the wages crop chopped. I have just finished dinner also. The first cabbage . The garden is doing alright.

There is so little happening around here for me to write about, yet I feel I should try to write to you since you will have to be in bed for some time.
