Cabarrus County Hospital
Dear Ruel,
The dead is coming to life again and I'm going to attempt to write you a letter. If its a bit wobbly you will know its because I'm still flat on my back.
Hope you haven't worried too much about us. They tell me Johnnie is doing fine - the only time they brought him to the hospital he would hardly notice me. Papa says if we take Johnnie away now we would have to take him with him for he is getting so attached to him. They told me this morning that I should see him play the piano. Its hard to tell what they are letting him do.
The way I've felt the last few days, having a baby is a minor performance. Every move I make feels like my stomach is pulling apart. If I have to sneeze, cough or laugh its awful. I am beginning to get over the soreness though. The doctor says I'm getting along and looking fine. He told me this morning that the cyst was wrapped around an ovary so he had to remove both. He cupped his two hands together to show me how large it was. I'm glad its out ond over with.
Dulcie has to have an opertion similar to mine. She is going to have it tomorrow. The doctor says hers is a much larger one and she will have to have a larger incision. Its a coincidence we both have the same thing the doctor said.
I had better not write any more. I've enjoyed the red roses so much.
Love,
Mavis
